Ohio State Buckeyes
The 1994-95 season
Scott Zack's season with the Ohio State men's basketball team: the program, the year, and the record.
The team
The 1994-95 Buckeyes played in Randy Ayers' sixth season as head coach. Ayers had taken Ohio State to a 26-6 record and the Elite Eight just three years earlier, in 1991-92. By 1994-95 the program was rebuilding, and the team finished 6-22 overall and 2-16 in the Big Ten, tenth in the conference.
The team's leading scorers that season were senior guard Doug Etzler at 16.3 points per game, Antonio Watson at 14.8 points and 7.1 rebounds, Rickey Dudley at 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds, and Rick Yudt at 12.8 points, according to the Michigan Daily's 1995-96 Big Ten preview.
Scott Zack was a sophomore forward on that roster, listed at 6-foot-7 and wearing number 34.

Most of a reserve forward's work in a Big Ten season happens where the box score cannot see it: in practice against the starters, on the scout team, and in film sessions. Scott has written about what that role taught him in What a 6-22 season taught me about building companies.
